Being longtime fans of SheWolf, we’ve been eagerly awaiting the opening of its much-anticipated sister restaurant. The moment Medusa opened just a few doors down, we were there at the first opportunity. Let us say this clearly, Medusa did not disappoint.

Marrow isn’t just a restaurant; it’s equal parts butcher shop and neighborhood gathering place. The space feels effortlessly stylish yet approachable, where the aroma steak mingles with the hum of conversation. It’s the kind of place that celebrates good food, good people, and genuine hospitality.

Mink is a jewel of a restaurant known for their incredible sourcing of a la carte oysters, tinned seafood and caviar. To begin, we indulged in oysters and caviar, opting for the chef’s choice oysters a decision we highly recommend.

Barú has been on our radar for a while, as we are loyal fans of Chef Lloyd Roberts. With his background, we knew the food would be incredible a fusion of Latin and Jamaican flavors rooted in his heritage and elevated by his global résumé. What we didn’t anticipate was just how breathtaking the restaurant itself would be. Barú is, quite literally, a Caribbean island in downtown Detroit.

Grey Ghost stands out as a restaurant that has become part of the fabric of Detroit dining, an establishment that balances creativity with consistency and continues to draw us back time and again.

One of our favorite new traditions is the Annual Tomato Dinner at Table 5. Now in its second year, and a first under the guidance of Chef Maddie Grupa, this beloved event continues to celebrate one of summer’s greatest ingredients with creativity, warmth, and community.

For the month of August, one of our Michigan favorites is doing something extraordinary. Oak & Reel, celebrated for its Italian-inspired seafood and pasta, has swapped Italy for France just for one month.

Detroit had its own slice of Verona this Monday night as SheWolf hosted A Night at the Opera, an enchanting celebration inspired by the legendary Arena di Verona Opera Festival.

Nestled in the heart of downtown Northville, Table 5 has always been our place where we reconnect, celebrate, decompress, and savor. It’s a constant in our ever-changing schedule, earning a well-deserved spot in our weekly rotation whenever we’re home. And when we say we eat there weekly, we mean it. Our friends, family, and even our staff know where we are every Saturday night. It’s such a ritual that it takes a very good reason for us to miss it.
