Adachi

Birmingham, MI

April 7th, 2026

We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again… we absolutely love Adachi. At this point, we’re probably nearing 200 visits, and somehow, it still feels just as exciting every time we walk in.

For Emma—our sushi kid—it’s a dream. If she had it her way, sushi would be on the menu daily. And honestly, with the consistency Adachi brings, we wouldn’t even blame her. While their rolls are always creative and beautifully executed, we find ourselves coming back to the classics every single time.

The sashimi is always pristine. The hamachi melts with that perfect balance of richness and brightness. And the toro platter? Easily one of our favorites—delicate, buttery, and exactly what you want from a top-tier sushi experience. Add in their rotating specials, and there’s always something new to try without ever straying too far from what you know and love.

Behind it all is Chef Eppie, whose story adds even more depth to the experience. Starting in the kitchen at just nine years old and now leading as Executive Chef, she brings a rare combination of grit and elegance to every plate. You can see it in the precision, the consistency, and the quiet confidence of the menu.

And if you ask Emma, there’s one standout beyond sushi—the Spicy Lobster Ramen. It’s rich, flavorful, and somehow manages to hold its own alongside some of the best sushi in the state.

One thing that may surprise people is dessert. Sushi and luxe desserts aren’t always a pairing you expect, but at Adachi, it works—and it works well. The presentation, the balance of flavors, and the attention to detail carry through from start to finish, making it impossible to skip that final course.

Japanese-inspired and globally influenced, Adachi continues to set the standard. For us, it’s not just a go-to—it’s a ritual.

And in our opinion, it’s still the best sushi in Michigan.
