We wanted to take a moment to congratulate Table 5 on being named Best Restaurant in Wayne County in Hour Detroit's Best of Detroit 2026: Food & Drinks awards. To us, this recognition comes as no surprise, it simply affirms what we've known for years.Â
We've been dining at Table 5 for well over a decade, and it remains one of our favorite restaurants in Michigan. In many ways, Emma has grown up around the Table 5 dinner table. It's where we've celebrated birthdays and anniversaries, holidays, gathered with friends, reconnected and reset after busy weeks, and shared countless memorable meals. There are very few restaurants that become part of a family's story, and Table 5 has certainly become part of ours.Â

In the most complimentary way possible, dining at Table 5 feels like stepping into a real-life Norman Rockwell painting. Nestled in the heart of downtown Northville, it's the kind of place where everyone seems to know one another and neighbors genuinely look out for each other. During the warmer months, when Main Street closes to traffic, restaurants spill onto the sidewalks, children safely run through the streets, and the entire downtown transforms into a gathering place. It perfectly captures everything we love about community.Â
Table 5 is the definition of a contemporary farm-to-table restaurant. The menu changes with the seasons, and every week brings a new appetizer, soup, and entrée. That constant creativity keeps regulars, of which there are many, coming back week after week because there's always something new.Â
Of course, there are the dishes that have achieved legendary cult status. The calamari and panko-encrusted halibut, their Gooey St. Louis Buttercake along with the Lussier-style mussels. Table 5 has the best mussels and if you haven't experienced them yet, stop what you're doing and make a reservation.Â
Over the years, we've celebrated countless milestones at Table 5. We've enjoyed unforgettable wine dinners, seasonal tasting menus, and one of our favorite annual traditions, the Tomato Dinner, which showcases just how creative the kitchen can be with a single ingredient.Â
Table 5 is also home to the beautiful artwork of Daniel Hackett, whose paintings have become part of the restaurant's identity. If you don't already own one of his pieces, spending an evening surrounded by his work may convince you otherwise. We have been fortunate enough to collect a few of his pieces to enjoy in our home. Â
Finally, for the record, Jabri Fine Dining proudly supports Community Over Cars. Places like Table 5 remind us that great restaurants do far more than serve exceptional food. They create gathering places, strengthen neighborhoods, support local artists, and become part of the fabric of a community.Â
Congratulations to everyone at Table 5 on this well-deserved recognition. We can't think of a more deserving winner.
