A trip to Miami always includes a trip to Ariete. It has become one of those restaurants we recommend without hesitation to anyone who wants to experience a side of Miami dining that is ambitious and highly technical, but still warm, comfortable, and genuinely hospitable.

Since spending more time in Miami, we have also been making a point to find out where the locals eat. We kept hearing that Macchialina is where you go for rustic, authentic Italian food, and we have to say, the locals were right.

The restaurant itself is beautiful. While L’Atelier upstairs is darker and more dramatic, Le Jardinier feels bright, open, and distinctly Miami, think emeralds and gilded gold. There is also a lush outdoor garden area that fits naturally into the Design District setting.

Stubborn Seed puts up some seriously beautiful food and it is delicious. We have been a few times when visiting Miami, and you know you are off to a good start when your server says, “Chef recommends using your hands.”

We knew going into Naoe that this was going to be an experience. With only five seats, an omakase menu, and a reputation as one of Miami’s most exclusive dining experiences, you know we had to secure a reservation.

Ghee is welcoming, fun, and upbeat without trying too hard, and the staff was incredibly attentive throughout the evening. But as much as we enjoyed the atmosphere, the food took the experience to an entirely different level.

The dining room centers around a beautiful hinoki wood counter, creating an intimate setting where every guest has a clear view of the chefs at work. The atmosphere is refined without feeling formal, allowing the focus to remain where it belongs: on the food and the experience. The sake pairings were exactly what we hoped they would be. Miami's version of Carbone arrives dressed to impress. Imagine classic Italian-American glamour turned up several notches. The dining room feels like old-school New York hospitality with Miami's unmistakable flair layered on top. Every detail is polished, energetic, and larger than life. From the moment we stepped inside, it was clear that Chef Michael Beltran had created something truly special. Ariete isn’t just about beautiful plates and elevated flavors, it’s about precision, passion, and a team that operates in perfect sync.

We chose to experience Torno Subito through its tasting menu, which felt like the right way to understand the kitchen’s point of view. The meal began with a zero-waste welcome bite, simple in concept, but thoughtfully executed. It immediately transported us, evoking the warmth of an Italian evening with bright, clean flavors that set the stage for what was to come.

Tambourine Room by Tristan Brandt is tucked inside Miami Beach’s historic Carillon Hotel, hidden behind large, unassuming double doors that give little indication of what waits inside.

Boia De may have a Michelin star, but it doesn’t operate like a traditional fine dining “celebration” restaurant. Instead, it feels like a neighborhood cornerstone small, vibrant, and community-driven where the focus is on great food and a room full of regulars rather than formality.

Zaytinya is a restaurant we’ve eaten at more times than we can count, and the NYC location is our absolute favorite. The flavors are vibrant, comforting, and somehow still refined, perfect for our family Mediterranean pallet with the elevation that Zatinya brings to traditional staples.

Our first visit to Stubborn Seed left a lasting impression. So much so, that when our travels brought us back to Miami, we made it a priority to return. Our first experience set a remarkably high bar and we returned curious to see how the experience would evolve with the season. Chef Jeremy Ford and his team have once again curated a extraordinary tasting menu.
