Los Félix, nestled in Miami’s Coconut Grove, is a Mexican restaurant known for its homage to ancestral traditions—particularly its use of heirloom corn from across the Americas. With a focus on sustainability, it has earned not only a Michelin star but also a Michelin Green Star, an accolade that recognizes environmental responsibility and commitment to ethical sourcing.
That said, while we deeply respect the mission and ethos behind Los Félix, however, our experience simply didn’t match the high bar set by other Michelin-starred restaurants in Miami.
We always approach our reviews as a family passionate about fine dining—not professional critics—but in this case, we left disappointed. Service was inconsistent and fell short of the attentive, polished experience we’ve come to expect from restaurants with Michelin recognition. We had to request items multiple times, drinks were forgotten, and it was surprisingly difficult to get our check once the dining room began to fill.
The food, while presented beautifully and rooted in cultural intention, was ultimately forgettable. Nothing stood out an hour later, which made us question how this experience earned the same level of recognition as other, more memorable one-star establishments.
We’re not experts in Michelin’s Green Star criteria, so we can’t fairly evaluate that aspect—but in terms of overall dining experience, this was a miss for us. Despite its accolades and values, Los Félix is not a place we’ll be returning to.
