To close out the Orlando leg of our self-created Jabri Restaurant Week, we circled back to Knife & Spoon for “The Art of Kobe”, a new exclusive five-course, chef-driven dining experience showcasing authentic Kobe beef paired with curated wines.
It was an especially memorable evening, combining our love for this property with our love of fine dining in a way that felt both thoughtful and distinctive.

The evening began with a wine tasting led by Jess. Not only did we get to try some fun and new pours, but it also gave her the opportunity to get to know us and better understand our preferences. From there, we made our way to the Primo Garden for a Champagne toast and the chance to select a few ingredients from the garden for the chefs to incorporate into our experience. We then visited the dry-aging room and learned more about the process behind it. It is always fascinating to us to better understand the technique, care, and precision that go into a meal.

This tasting strikes exactly the right balance of courses. While Kobe is undeniably rich and melt-in-your-mouth delicious, it can also be quite filling because of its high fat content. This experience absolutely succeeded in using such a luxurious ingredient in ways that felt intentional, balanced, and varied from course to course. Even dessert included a Kobe fat caramel that was so good that, after finishing dessert, we were eating it by the spoonful.
If you follow us, you know how much we value experiences that go beyond the plate, and this is absolutely one of them. For anyone who truly loves food and fine dining, this is a must. Chef Tyler and Chef Hugh were not only incredibly knowledgeable, but genuinely fun to interact with throughout the evening, adding another layer to an already memorable experience. Over the years, we have had the opportunity to get to know so many members of the Knife & Spoon team, and what stands out most is every single person is kind, attentive, and is so genuine in what they do. You can feel when a team truly cares, and here, that care is unmistakable.
And 13 visits in between…because this beautiful restaurant is always on our Orlando rotation
Knife & Spoon: A Journey to Remember *
January 30th, 2025

When visiting the Ritz-Carlton Orlando, Grande Lakes, a must is to dine at Knife & Spoon. We have lost count of how many delightful dinners we have enjoyed over the years and look forward to many more to come. For our family, this restaurant is more than just a culinary destination; it represents so many memories. For Emma, her first experience holding a Michelin star was at Knife & Spoon, making this place even more special for our family. The ambiance—a blend of sophisticated elegance and warm hospitality.
A Journey Through the Stars
Knife & Spoon earned its prestigious Michelin star for its impeccable craftsmanship, innovative dishes, and dedication to delivering elevated dining experiences. This accolade was a crowning achievement, reflecting the team’s relentless pursuit of perfection. However, maintaining a Michelin star is a continuous challenge, and the restaurant’s star was lost recently. We are confident this slip in the stars is temporary and we already see the star in reach.
While the restaurant’s star status may currently be in flux, its essence as a must-visit venue remains intact. The journey to regaining a Michelin star is not merely about the dishes served but about refining every aspect of the dining experience. From the precision in preparation to the ambiance that welcomes diners, every detail contributes to the magic. Knife & Spoon’s commitment to excellence is evident in its seasonal menus, which highlight the best ingredients, and in the creative energy of its culinary team, who continuously push boundaries.
A Sustainable Vision
Sustainability has become a cornerstone of Knife & Spoon’s philosophy. The restaurant sources local, sustainable ingredients, supporting nearby farms and fisheries. This approach not only ensures the highest quality ingredients but also reduces the environmental impact of its operations. From minimizing food waste to utilizing eco-friendly practices, Knife & Spoon demonstrates how fine dining can align with sustainability without compromising luxury.
When serving caviar, the choice of accompaniments can elevate the experience just as much

as the delicacy itself. Imagine replacing the traditional blini with thin, crisp fish skin, which was a delightful surprise during our latest visit. This innovative approach not only enhances the presentation but also adds a delicate crunch and a subtle umami depth that complements the caviar’s briny richness. By transforming what is often discarded into a luxurious, functional element of the dish, this method embraces sustainability while creating a truly immersive culinary experience—where every bite is a harmony of texture, flavor, and innovation.

Why Knife & Spoon is a Must-Visit
Whether you are a seasoned Michelin-star chaser or simply someone who appreciates extraordinary dining, Knife & Spoon is a must when visiting the Ritz-Carlton Orlando. It’s more than a restaurant; it’s a story of resilience, innovation, and passion. The dedication to regaining its star shines through in every dish, every interaction, and every thoughtful detail.
For us, it’s a cherished chapter in our own culinary adventures—one we look forward to reliving, one unforgettable meal at a time.
