Dining at Al Muntaha, perched high above Dubai in the splendor of the Burj Al Arab, is unmistakably the latter. This is not just a meal, it’s an experience that will stay with you long after the final course, one that earns its rightful place on every culinary bucket list.
From the moment you enter the Burj Al Arab, you’re immersed in opulence. Nothing quite prepares you for the
elevator ride to the 27th floor and the stunning reveal of Al Muntaha. The panoramic views of Dubai are just breathtaking. The dining room is sleek and futuristic, reminiscent of a luxurious and glamourous version of The Jetsons. Think polished chrome, curved architecture, and soft lighting that feels straight out of a luxury space-age dream.
The tasting menu can only be compared to that of a Per Se or Alinea. The highlight of the evening was the Buttoni Surf and Turf. A delicate pasta filled with foie gras and king crab, finished tableside with a rich truffle broth. Even after being given strict instructions not to bite down (as the filling quite literally explodes), Carmine got a little too excited… and well, let’s just say the tablecloth got a taste too. But the joy it sparked was unforgettable. It immediately brought us back to the iconic Explosion dish at Alinea in Chicago—black truffle, romaine, and parmesan—where culinary precision meets playful surprise.
And then there's the detail we didn’t know we needed until we experienced it, the best handbag chairs we’ve ever seen. A quiet touch of luxury, but one that speaks volumes about the thoughtfulness and refinement behind every element of service here.
Service at Al Muntaha is seamless, evocative of our experiences at Per Se. The team strikes a flawless balance between polished professionalism and warm hospitality. Every gesture feels intentional, and the pacing lets you fully sink into the experience. As is everything in Dubai, it’s luxurious, over-the-top in the best way, and deeply rooted in service and culture.
