Jean-Georges **

There are two things that define Thanksgiving in New York City for our family: The Rockettes and Jean-Georges’ turkey. For the last few years, dining at this iconic restaurant has become a cherished tradition, one we look forward to as much as the holiday itself. Simply put: Jean-Georges makes the best turkey.

What we love most is how the Thanksgiving tasting menu gives you a glimpse into the classic Jean-Georges experience while adding a festive, holiday twist. You get the very best of his traditional menu AND a beautifully prepared turkey platter. You get to celebrate Thanksgiving in a way that feels elevated, special, and unmistakably Jean-Georges.
Each year you choose between two tasting menus: a six-course omnivore or a ten-course omnivore. Emma and Kira, being loyal turkey lovers, always select the six. Carmine can take it or leave it with turkey and always opts for the ten, which includes lobster, foie gras, and Wagyu strip loin. And while the turkey platter is beautifully traditional and absolutely delicious, it’s impossible to overlook the rest of the meal.
A perennial favorite is the Jean-Georges signature Egg Toast: a warm brioche square filled with a rich, jam-style egg yolk, topped generously with caviar and finished with herbs like dill and chives. Another Jabri family favorite? The tuna ribbons or as we say “tuna spaghetti” bright, refreshing, and perfect every single time.

One detail that always sparks conversation at our table is the way the forks are placed upside down. As our server explained, this is part of a formal continental dining style, where the fork is held in the left hand with the tines pointing downward. Jean-Georges also prefers the aesthetic. Historically, French table settings followed this practice to display the family coat of arms engraved on the back of the fork quite the contrast to traditions in Germany or the UK.
Thanksgiving at Jean-Georges is more than a meal it’s a tradition filled with family memories, elegance, and dishes that keep us returning year after year.
