Il Ristorante continues to hold a special place in our Jabri Fine Dining story. From the moment you step onto the terrace, the setting is undeniably breathtaking. The views, the calm elegance, and the quiet confidence of the room feel like glamour distilled, exactly as one would expect from Bulgari.

On this visit, we chose to do something a little different and leaned into Il Menu Tartufo, a five-course journey celebrating the depth and elegance of white Alba truffle. The progression was absolute perfection, allowing the truffle to remain the star rather than an overpowering accent.

We cannot express enough gratitude for the team who took such wonderful care of us. Emanuele, you were an absolute gem, we’ll be looking for you next time. And to Leonardo, Martina, Mateo, Francesca, and the rest of the team, it was truly a joy to see familiar faces again. Your warmth carried through the entire evening and made an already beautiful experience feel even more special.

Trèsind Studio, one of the two (and frankly, should be three) three-Michelin-starred restaurants in Dubai, truly lived up to the hype of fabulousness, delivering an experience as refined as it was memorable.

The tasting menu was structured by region, guiding us through India’s extraordinary geographic and culinary diversity. Before each new chapter of the meal, a beautifully detailed topographic map was presented tableside, grounding the dishes in place and history. Ingredients were introduced in context, what each region is known for, how climate and culture shape flavor turning the experience into a lesson as much as a meal. As a family that dines not only for exceptional food but also for education and cultural understanding, this resonated deeply with us.

This was not simply a modern take on Indian cuisine, but a decidedly luxurious one. With very limited seating and what often feels like a near one-to-one guest-to-chef ratio, every detail felt personal and intentional.

We left with a beautifully designed menu booklet, one that belongs in every U.S. global studies classroom. Beyond a keepsake, every table also left with a beautiful piece of original art by @charlespaintings_256_ to remember the evening. Trèsind Studio isn’t just a meal; it’s an education, a shared experience, and a reminder of why we dine the way we do as a family, with curiosity, and with reverence for the stories behind the food.

Dinner by Heston Blumenthal has been on our Dubai wish list for quite some time. This is not a restaurant you simply walk into, rather it’s one you arrive at. Tucked within Atlantis The Royal, the journey begins with a dramatic elevator ascent, water cascading around you, before revealing a discreet, almost secretive entrance.

Inside, the space is refined dark, elegant, and quietly cinematic. The menu, however, is what anchors everything. Rooted in historic British recipes dating back centuries, some as far as the 1300s, each dish feels thoughtfully reimagined rather than reinvented. As a family that enjoys a bit of food anthropology, this experience was genuinely fun. We opted for the tasting menu, feeling it would offer the most complete view of the restaurant’s perspective.

And of course, no experience would be complete without Carmine leaning fully into the moment, his staging very much continuing. He took a turn at tableside service of the famous Liquid Nitrogen Ice Cream Trolley dessert, and Emma and I were genuinely impressed.

We found ourselves craving Arabic food, and Amaseena’s beautifully designed Bedouin-style tents felt like the perfect setting. The atmosphere is so transportive and thoughtfully done that even Carmine was happy to dine outdoors, no small feat. Set within The Ritz-Carlton Dubai, the restaurant is framed by a stunning beach backdrop, adding a sense of calm and place that makes the entire experience feel effortlessly authentic.

Those who follow Jabri Fine Dining know one thing about us: we’re not buffet people. While Amaseena’s lavish buffet is what they are known for, their classic à la carte menu is where the experience truly shines for us thoughtfully prepared, familiar dishes executed with care and consistency.

Adding to the evening was live entertainment, including a belly dancer, which brought an authentic and celebratory energy to the space. It was engaging festive, joyful, and especially captivating for younger diners.

What truly sets Amaseena apart is how welcoming it is for families. From the open-air layout to the approachable menu and lively atmosphere, this is by far one of the most kid-friendly dining experiences we’ve had on property, both in terms of food and overall vibe.

ROW on 45 is a restaurant that leaves a lasting impression. We’ve now dined here twice, and it’s already become a place we plan around. Whenever our travels bring us to Dubai, ROW on 45 is a reservation we prioritize without hesitation.

If there is one flaw to be found, it exists outside the dining room. While currently holding two Michelin stars, ROW on 45 is undeniably operating at a three-star level. Until the guide catches up, an unofficial third star from Jabri Fine Dining will have to suffice.

One dish, in particular, the Kutchan 540 potato was extraordinary in both taste and story. Snow-aged for 540 days in a Hokkaido snow cellar, this potato is prized for its extraordinary sweetness and silk-like texture. At ROW on 45, it’s presented as a refined nod to the comfort of a British jacket potato. Finished with caviar (because, as we like to say, everything is better with caviar), it’s a dish we’ll be dreaming about for a long time. We were especially honored to experience it knowing this potato is served exclusively at ROW on 45 outside of Japan.

We were genuinely excited to return to Hōseki. Set within the Bvlgari Resort Dubai, the space is stunning overlooking Burj Khalifa. Our first visit during daylight, the second in the evening, both glorious. This visit also coincided with Emma’s birthday yesterday, which we seem to be extending the celebration over a few days.
What stood out most on a return visit was consistency. The pacing is measured, the
technique assured, and the restraint unwavering. Hōseki doesn’t rely on surprise or spectacle. It operates with quiet confidence, allowing the craft to speak for itself.
Chef Sugiyama’s engagement was thoughtful and sincere. He remembered Emma from our previous visit and took evident pleasure in welcoming a young diner with a true appreciation for sushi back to the counter. Throughout the meal, he engaged her in quiet conversation, reinforcing the idea that respect for the craft and for those eager to learn transcends age. In a city known for scale and spectacle, Hōseki remains precise and grounded. A restaurant built on trust, repetition, and mastery and one that continues to hold its ground.

Some restaurants stay vivid in your memory for a reason, and Smyth is one of them. With this year’s Michelin Guide reshaping the landscape, Smyth remains Chicago’s lone three-star an achievement that feels both rare and well deserved.
From the first course, the level of detail is unmistakable. Every dish is precise and luxurious, thoughtful without ever being overworked. A black walnut cured quail egg, caviar and pumpkin seed, Vermont Quail & Malted Milk Bread delivers depth and balance in just a few bites. The venison royal is rich and composed, while the Dungeness crab with kabocha pumpkin manages to be comforting and intricate at the same time. Each course feels intentional, with flavors that unfold slowly rather than shout.

The tasting menu never misses, but the amuse-bouches set the tone from the start: Lady Edison donut, smoked beef carpaccio tartlet, Little Blackbird cannoli, and a perfectly poached oyster. Each bite is thoughtful, balanced, and memorable. And yes, always happy to see Osetra caviar back on the table.

On December 13, The Office Space Supper Club was thoughtfully crafted by @chefzacharychouinard , who curated a seven-course experience rooted in refinement, creativity, and connection. Set within the @emmainternationalconsulting office, by day a hub for life-science innovation; by night, transformed into an intimate luxury dining experience. Think conference chairs gave way to a table built for lingering conversations and shared moments.

This intimate, sold-out evening brought together people from different worlds, all connected by a belief that meaningful conversations happen best around the table (conference room and fine dining). Each course was designed to spark dialogue, encourage curiosity proof that luxury dining doesn’t need a traditional dining room, just intention.

Zaytinya is a restaurant we’ve eaten at more times than we can count, and the NYC location is our absolute favorite. The flavors are vibrant, comforting, and somehow still refined, perfect for our family Mediterranean pallet with the elevation that Zatinya brings to traditional staples. Zatinya was the perfect ending to our week in NYC.
Some of our go-to starters: the Sujouk Pide (we use sujouk a lot in our home) the Dolmades (the delicious labor of love that we only do a few times a year), and Zaytinya’s signature hommus and hommus ma lahm, creamy, balanced, and endlessly scoopable. And yes, the falafel cracks green enough for Emma’s seal of approval.

Masa NYC is known for its strict no-photography policy, which keeps the focus squarely on the experience without distractions. This was our second visit, and while the room remains as disciplined and serene as ever, meeting Chef Masa this time added an entirely new layer to the experience.

One of the most fascinating parts of the evening was learning about tuna anatomy specifically how the tendons work and how they’re transformed into Suji aka tuna bacon.

To say Eleven Madison Park was everything we imagined feels like an understatement. For years, we were a house divided; Kira determined to experience this institution, and Carmine refusing as long as it remained fully vegan. When the news broke this year that the menu was evolving, we were both ecstatic.
As if the evening wasn’t magical enough, we were invited into the kitchen to watch the team in action. The kindness, the precision, the ease of their movement was masterclass in hospitality. Moments like these are never lost on us.

If you don’t leave Barú, Detroit’s best Latin-Caribbean restaurant, feeling happier, more energized, and like you just stepped out of the warmth of the Caribbean, something is seriously wrong with you 😊.

Before we even get to the food, we have to talk about the space because this restaurant is simply gorgeous. Imagine bright Caribbean mural art combined with luxurious gilded gold accents, posh velvet seating, and even plates that are on theme. Not one detail was missed. From the moment you walk in, the entrance alone makes every guest feel like a VIP.

Now, let’s talk food. Everything is wonderful, but our current favorites are the ceviche, empanadas, fish tacos, and of course, the jerk Cornish hen. Barú will never be a place where we can finish everything and that’s part of its charm. The menu is just too fun, too flavorful, and too good not to overorder. Taking home leftovers feels like a little gift to yourself for tomorrow.

Oak & Reel’s Fall Tasting Menu is exactly that. Focused, seasonal, and executed with precision, it’s easily one of our favorites, so much so, we’ve already enjoyed it twice.

The Pizzette Verde is playful and delicious, but “The Alternative First Course”, focaccia with stracciatella and Siberian sturgeon caviar, stole the show. JFD will always lean toward the caviar option.

On our second visit to Stubborn Seed, we were reminded why seasonal dining, when done with this level of intention, keeps things exciting. The Hudson Valley Foie Gras Torchon returned but this fall’s version with kyoho grape, and the Wagyu Beef Tartare was a welcomed repeat.

Other new standouts: binchotan-kissed Florida oysters and a sourdough-crusted Alaskan halibut that brought perfect texture and depth.

We’ll be back again. We welcome the seasonal changes of course but do hope that the Hudson Valley Foie Gras Torchon and the Wagyu Beef Tartare remain staples of the tasting menu.

We’ve had Indienne on our radar for a while, and it was worth every minute of the wait. Chef Sujan Sarkar’s Michelin-starred vision takes Indian cuisine that is rooted in tradition, yet masterfully modern.

From the elegant space to the seamless service, every detail felt intentional and warm. Emma especially loved being part of the experience proof that great dining doesn’t need to be exclusive, just exceptional.

The Lobster Ghee Roast and Chili Cheese Kulcha were must-adds (trust us—don’t skip the bread). And the Reserve wine pairing? Pure perfection. A Rioja described as “peaches and burnt tires” turned out to be one of our favorites of the night.

Recently named the Resy One To Watch Award winner for 2025 as part of The World's 50 Best Restaurants North America list, Ladder 4 has found its rhythm as one of Detroit’s most compelling culinary stops.

A few highlights from the evening:
• drive-thru hash browns with sour cream and amber Kaluga caviar
• baccalà mantecato with focaccia and piparras
• short rib tartare with giardiniera
• capellini with porcini mushroom ragù, Parmigiano, and Burgundy truffle
• whole grilled brook trout with beans and romesco
• dry-aged Flannery ribeye

We ended the evening with their signature burnt Basque cheesecake.
An absolutely beautiful space, and it’s inspiring to see Detroit’s dining scene so filled culinary ambition.

What we didn’t anticipate was just how breathtaking the restaurant itself would be. Barú is, quite literally, a Caribbean island in downtown Detroit.

The space is expansive yet intimate, flowing seamlessly from a stylish dining room to a transitional open-air area, an outdoor patio, and a speakeasy dripping in glamour. Think deep emeralds, gold accents, and an energy that feels both electric and indulgent. The transitional open-air space was perfect for us: Carmine refuses to eat outdoors, Kira loves it so for once, we both won.

From the warmest welcome to a tasting menu that felt like a big, beautiful hug, Chef
Dante Boccuzzi reminded us why his city treasures him. Generous portions,
extraordinary flavors, and service that made the night unforgettable.

The evening ended with something truly special, Chef Dante himself signing his
cookbook for us, complete with a foreword by the legendary Charlie Trotter. A keepsake we’ll cherish and welcome into our collection.
