Family Meal at Blue Hill *

Blue Hill Farm has been on our radar for years, but the logistics never quite aligned for us, at least not in this chapter of life. Enter Family Table at Blue Hill, the perfect way to kick off the annual Jabri Family Thanksgiving trip to NYC.

What made this experience especially unique is that there’s no menu. Dishes simply arrive, family-style platters that range from beautifully simple to quietly complex. What’s consistent throughout is the unmistakable feeling that everything on the table is truly farm-to-table. Blue Hill delivers exactly what they’re known for, and they do it flawlessly… as long as you walk in with the right mindset.

There are indeed plenty of vegetables on the table, and we saw it as a highlight. When a restaurant can take radishes, pair them with crème fraîche and buckwheat, and create something this memorable, it speaks to the integrity of their farm-to-table philosophy. These were genuinely some of the best radishes we’ve ever eaten.

Emma especially loved the crudo-style dishes, but there wasn’t one “standout” because everything was quite exceptional. This is a restaurant you experience through the lens of the farm, not the lens of traditional luxury dining and if you embrace that, the meal becomes extraordinary.

We also have to applaud Blue Hill for being one of the most thoughtful restaurants for younger diners. They ask guests to note children in the reservation so they can adjust portions, they have booster seats, and they’ll even store strollers. As a family that supports bringing children along to experience neighborhood gems to Michelin-star dining rooms, these touches never go unnoticed.

Service was lovely, Lucy in particular was an absolute joy. You can always tell when a team is proud of where they work, and that pride shown through in every small detail. The space itself feels like an elevated, luxurious dinner party at a friend’s home, warm, intimate, and welcoming.



A beautiful start to Thanksgiving week, and a reminder of what farm-to-table looks like when done with heart and intention
