At Jabri Fine Dining, our reflections are not critiques, they are tributes to the immersive experiences curated by the world’s most exceptional restaurants. Masa, the revered three-Michelin-starred omakase destination nestled inside Manhattan’s Columbus Circle, is one such experience. Often described as a culinary sanctuary, it’s a place we felt compelled to explore.
There is a strict no-photo policy at Masa, and while that may seem unusual in today’s share-everything world, we believe etiquette begins with reverence and so, we honored it without hesitation. Only at the end of the meal were we graciously invited to take a photo.
Carmine described the evening as one of his most unforgettable omakase experiences. Every course was executed with precision, restraint, and grace, a quiet celebration of craftsmanship at its highest level.
Masa is best understood as a place of quiet pilgrimage one that honors the purity of the omakase tradition. It is not about luxury for luxury’s sake, but about deep respect for the art of sushi and the discipline behind each gesture.
For the adult diner seeking contemplative simplicity, impeccable technique, and an almost spiritual encounter with Japanese cuisine, Masa is an unforgettable experience. For families, however, we suggest saving this sacred space for a solo or adult-only evening.
